Location. The waterfront Hotel Ca Formenta is a renovated palazzo in Venice, Italy. The hotel is located in a residential area, 350 metres from the Biennale Gardens and within one kilometre of St Mark's Square. Venice attractions like Basilica San Marco are less than one kilometre away, while Venice Lido's beaches are 15 minutes by water bus. The closest public water bus stop is Arsenale, 200 metres from the hotel. Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) is 13 kilometres from Piazzale Roma, Venice's sole car-entry point.
Hotel Features. The Hotel Ca Formenta is set in a restored palazzo dating back to the 14th century, when the neighbourhood was home to traders selling wares to Venice's merchant and war ships. The concierge desk offers restaurant recommendations and advice on sightseeing tours.

The Ca Formenta Bar serves snacks and drinks all day in the shaded inner courtyard, and at tables with lagoon views, set up outside the hotel. The hotel also offers a complimentary buffet breakfast and room service.

Getting there. ATVO buses run every 30 minutes to Piazzale Roma in the city centre. The journey time is 20 minutes and single tickets cost 3 EUR. The ACTV number 5 bus also goes to Piazzale Roma. The number 15 bus runs between the airport and Venice-Mestre train station. At Pizzale Roma, water buses (vaporetto) are available. A free bus service links the airport terminal to the airport jetty; from here, regular Alilaguna boats leave for the city. Single tickets cost 10 EUR. Private water taxis are available, but are typically very expensive. Prices are all subject to change. The hotel has a private water-taxi dock and its nearest water-bus stop is Arsenale. After getting off the water-bus, turn right and walk along the waterfront for approximately 200 metres, crossing two bridges en route. The hotel's narrow facade will appear on the left immediately after the second bridge where it crosses Via Garibaldi, which runs diagonally off the waterfront promenade. Getting around. The Hotel Ca Formenta is located on Via Garibaldi, within one kilometre of St Mark's Square. Venice is best explored on foot or by public water buses (vaporetto). Three-day passes for the public water bus cost 25 EUR and offer unlimited travel. Water taxis and gondolas are also available. Gondola ferries (traghetti) cross the Grand Canal and the fare is 50 cents. Drivers can leave their cars at Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto.
