Location. The family-run Hotel Canal is located in Venice, Italy, overlooking the Grand Canal. The hotel is located 600 metres from Ca'd'Oro Palace, 900 metres from Rialto Bridge, and two kilometres from St Mark's Square. Piazzale Roma bus station and Santa Lucia train station are just 200 metres away. Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) is 12 kilometres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. The hotel occupies a refurbished 18th-century Venetian palazzo with a pink facade. Inside, 24-hour front desk staff welcome guests to the hotel which has a picturesque garden.

In warmer months, the complimentary continental breakfasts and drinks can be served alfresco in the hotel's garden and gazebo, decorated with wisteria and climbing roses. Drinks are served in the Hotel Canal's relaxed bar.

The flower-filled patio garden offers a relaxation area for guests to use.

Guestrooms. Baroque-style interiors and wallpaper furnish the Hotel Canal's 33 climate-controlled guestrooms, which all enjoy views over the canal or the hotel's garden. All rooms have satellite television, minibars, direct-dial phones and safes.

Getting there. ATVO buses run every 30 minutes to Piazzale Roma in the city centre. The journey time is 20 minutes and single tickets cost 3 EUR. The ACTV number 5 bus also goes to Piazzale Roma, which is 200 metres from the hotel. The number 15 bus runs between the airport and Venice-Mestre train station. Guests can take the train to Santa Lucia train station, 200 metres from the hotel. At Piazzale Roma, water buses (vaporetto) are available. A free bus service links the airport terminal to the airport jetty; from here, regular Alilaguna boats leave for the city. Single tickets cost 10 EUR. Private water taxis are available, but are typically very expensive. Prices are all subject to change. Getting around. The hotel is on Sestiere Santa Croce. Venice is best explored on foot or by public water buses (vaporetto). Three-day passes for the public water bus cost 25 EUR and offer unlimited travel. Water taxis and gondolas are also available. Gondola ferries (traghetti) cross the Grand Canal and the fare is 50 cents. Drivers can leave their cars at Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto.
